Joseph Chris Carter was born March 7th,1960 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He started his career with the Chicago Cubs in 1983, he played 23 games with his first 9 career hits and his first RBI. After a short stay with Iowa of the American Association in 1984, he was traded to the Indians and in his first season with them he achieved 41 more RBI's and 13 Homerun's. On June 11th 1992 he hit his 4th homerun against Roger Clemens, only Carlton Fisk has more against Clemens.

Among his many accomplishments in his career some of the highlights include:

He shares the Record for Homerun's in consecutive games with 5
Has the American League Record for most games with 3 or more Homerun's with 5
Is the first major league player to collect 100 or more RBI's in three consecutive years for three different Teams.
Won the Sporting News Silver Slugger Award in 1991
On April 9th 1992, sat out game with a sore back ending a 507 game consecutive games played streak. Second to Cal Ripken Jr. at the time.
Has had 100 RBI's 9 of his 13 seasons in the Majors
